Pete and I are true believers that you should never stop learning. We are constantly watching and listening to educational Youtube videos and podcasts. But we have also invested in amazing courses this year.⁠⠀

PART 4: The BEST educational investments:⁠⠀
⁠⠀
⁠- 'Make it Social Not Salesy' by @sydneymariephotography. This is a great course specifically for social media marketing which has helped us so much with our marketing strategy and has helped us find our dream clients. 💕 ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
- Mentors. The BEST thing we did last year was investing in a mentorship with @beccacannonphoto. Becca and her husband Kidron are also a husband and wife photo + video team and not only are they extremely kind they are also CRAZY talented. Go take a look at their work! So we knew right away that we wanted to learn from them and omg we learned SO much in the 2-hour call we had. We honestly could have kept talking to them for hours! lol Invest in learning from people who are already at the place you want to be in your business. ⁠⠀

We are wanting to start attending more wedding photography and videography conferences this year if we can because we do love learning in person! 🤞⁠⠀

Today we're talking all about our client's experience which is something we’re always trying to improve! Cause booking a photographer/videographer for your wedding day should be easy and an enjoyable experience. :) ⁠(⚠️save for later⚠️)⁠⠀

PART 3: The best investments we made to level up our client's experience: ⁠⠀

- A customer relationship management system - Dubsado. We put off getting a CRM for a LONG time. We finally decided to invest in @mydubsado during their Black Friday sale and it has ALREADY changed our business. Not only is our client's experience better than ever, but we are also able to automate a lot of the smaller parts of our business (like sending invoices, following up, etc.) that were taking up all our time so we can focus on the bigger things. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
- Contract templates from @indiaearl - Contracts are definitely not our favorite part of running a business but absolutely 100000000% the most important. We felt like our old contracts were lacking a few important items. We found these templates and they are great! And she even has contracts for both photography and videography. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
- A website from @flothemes: That's right guys! We invested in a new website theme!! We always knew the website we have now would be temporary. We just wanted to get something up. But now we know better where we want to take this business and what we're passionate about delivering to our clients so we bought a theme that will better show what our business is ALL about. We're still working on it at the moment but we can't wait to show you guys once it's up! It's going to have so much more information about us and the process of hiring us for your weddings! ⁠⠀

- Photo Mechanic by @camerabits: ⁠We've been hearing about Photo Mechanic since the very beginning of our business before we even knew what culling was. lol But we always put it off and culled our images in Lightroom. We finally decided to get it recently and I finally see why so many people are obsessed! It helps so much when you're going through 1,000s of wedding photos and the time I spend editing has significantly decreased. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
- G-Presets:⁠ I have spent the entire year trying to find our editing "style" and make all of our work, no matter the lighting situation, consistent. It's been a process but I finally decided to purchase one of @gpresets packs and OMG my editing has never been easier. I adjusted the yellows and greens to make them more of our own and I have never been in love with our photos more. ⁠⠀

⁠We invest in equipment and services to up the quality of our photos and films and make our client's experience the absolute BEST. We also invest in courses and education so that we can grow our business. We really feel like there's always more to learn to help us grow. ⁠ ⁠⠀

Soooo, we wanted to create a little series this week listing the BEST things we have invested in in 2020 that have truly changed our business. ⁠⠀

PART 1: The best equipment we invested in last year:⁠⠀
⁠⠀
- Sony A7iii: Hands down the BEST equipment investment we made all year was the Sony A7iii. We now own 2 and it was such a huge upgrade from the Sony A7ii. One of the main reasons we purchased it is because it works amazing for photography and videography. It's the perfect camera for our business. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
- Tascam DR-10L Mic: When we first started experimenting with wedding audio we learned fast that relying on the audio from the DJ's speakers was not ideal. So, we wanted to invest in an inconspicuous mic that we'd be able to put on our grooms and officiants to record the ceremony. This little mic is incredible and delivers amazing audio.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
- Tamron 70-180 F/2.8: This lens is a gamechanger for photographing ceremonies. We're able to be behind the guests and not get in the way while still capturing super sharp close up shots of our couples. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
- Asus ROG Zephyrus M15 Laptop: We have a desktop computer that is powerful to edit on but when we started booking more videography jobs, Pete and I found ourselves taking turns editing on that computer and it just was NOT working. So, we decided to invest in another computer and really wanted a laptop that we would be able to take with us to our destination weddings so we could work on the road. Lightroom is a heavy app and can slow down computers but this laptop is powerful enough to handle it so it's been perfect for me. ⁠⠀
